Here are some of my favorite photos taken in the Maldives. Over the time I spent photographing the destination, I developed a personal connection to certain images, a kind of attachment to the moments and places I captured.
Through my lens, I strive to evoke the emotions these islands give me.
I hope their exquisite beauty will never vanish.
Maldives, some of my favorite images.
As a professional photographer, I have been fortunate enough to travel everywhere in the Maldives and thus to capture the essence of the destination.
The photos presented below are some of my favorites for various reasons. Sometimes because of the emotional impact I felt at the moment, the extreme aesthetic appeal of the landscape, its technicality or simply the significance of the subject I had in front of my lens.
When nature paints. A Magical Maldives Sunset to remember.

Corporate aerial photo of an entire Maldives seaplane fleet on a desert island.
This photo of the entire Maldivian Air Taxi seaplane fleet was shot for the airline company as corporate image. I photographed it from another seaplane rented to the concurrent company, Trans Maldivian Airways, for the occasion.

Aerial photo of a beautiful Maldivian desert island.
Located in South Male Atoll, this magnificent small desert island – the same as above but with no seaplane this time, is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful and iconic island of the Maldives.

Photos of the Maldives traditional boat : the Dhoni.
I consider dhonis one of the strongest symbols of Maldivian culture. Throughout my photo journeys in the Maldives, they have been a great source of inspiration for me.
Dhonis are among the oldest sea vessels in the Maldives and can be found throughout the archipelago. Sadly, small dhonis, like the ones I photographed below, have become very rare.

The series of aerial photos capturing a row of pristine islands in Baa Atoll, North Maldives.
From the thousand images that I framed and shot in the Maldives, this series of aerial photos of the outstanding Baa Atoll is probably the most iconic image of the Maldives.
It was not scheduled, I was just flying north Maldives for a resort photo shooting, when I saw this from my seaplane !
The conditions were perfectly aligned, just like these stunningly beautiful islands : no foggy skies, no wind, perfect timing for the light, the perfect alignment.

Aerial view at Malé, Maldives capital city
Flying above Malé is quite an experience. Shot back in 2007 from a seaplane, this aerial photo shows how much the capital city of the Maldives was already crowded.
When the Moon and Venus shine at Dusk in the Maldivian Sky
Another breathtaking Maldivian sunset, but this time Venus shone hign in the sky together with the Moon.
Photo of Ihuru Island. A Luxury Maldives Resort
This photo of Ihuru island, located in North Male Atoll, was shot during a photo shooting for Banyan Tree. The resort was later rebranded as Angsana Ihuru followed nowadays by Dhawa Ihuru.
Ihuru is one of the most beautiful small resort island in terms of natural assets. Its small size, round shape and the corals surrounding it make it a perfection.
A Romantic candlelight dinner in Maldives
This candlelight dinner was shot for Gili Lankanfushi Maldives, during one of my photo assignments for the luxury resort.

A small tropical island that no longer exists, like others in the Maldives.
I photographed here a small tropical island in North Male Atoll which today doesn’t exist anymore…
The weather was perfect on that day, with no current, waves, or ripples at the lagoon surface, providing me with excellent visibility. The crystal-clear waters of the Maldives and the coral reef beneath the surface represent one of the many visions of paradise that the Maldives has offered my lens.
Taken from a low angle on a boat, the island appears distant, almost like a dream…

This bed and romantic settings was created for Milaidhoo Island Maldives to represent the luxury and romantic experiences offered by the resort. The image is one of the hotel hero shot.
